The response since the conception of the Butterflies Support Group in September 2009 has indicated that this need exists in the Keynsham and surrounding areas which include Whitchurch, Kingswood, Longwell Green, Barrs Court and Bath.
The Butterflies Achievements and Vision Commitment
To create a meeting place where parents/carers can feel part of a supportive network that understands and to open up social opportunities where they feel at ease and free to relax.
To establish mutually respectful relationships with the recognised professional bodies who provide services for ASD children and those with developmental learning disadvantages.
To encourage decision-makers to recognise the need to work alongside 'real families' and find more supportive choices that ease their burden.
To raise awareness within communities both for existing families and those to come.
To create a central Haven that provides everything needed to support families regarding assessment, diagnosis, educational, emotional. Always acknowledging the 'whole person'.
