Statement of Intent:
"One of the many reasons I have become a volunteer with the Young Voice Group is to become involved with helping the community. I want to help create a safe place where the children can share their experiences and emotions without being judged and most importantly to be able to have fun and be themselves. I'm really looking forward to watching the children develop friendships and learn to trust each other."
 
 
 
Sally Tyler

Parent to daughter on Autistic Spectrum
Statement of Intent:
"My daughter was diagnosed as Autistic 2 years ago. She is now 13 years old. She also has learning difficulties and attends Threeways School, Bath. I want to volunteer with the Young Voice Group as it is a wonderful, inspirational group. There is nothing available outside of school for my daughter which fulfils her demanding needs. She feels very comfortable within the group and is able to express herself freely without feeling judged."

Youngest sibling is on Autistic Spectrum
A levels in History/English Literature. Currently studying for a BA in History and Politics. I Have volunteered with Mencap. Work experience in Primary Schools helping children with reading and writing.
Statement of Intent:
"I am involved with Butterflies and Young Voice because of my sister's diagnosis. Also, I have seen how it is benefiting  whole families to have finally found some support."

Statement of Intent
I want to use my experience as a mother to encourage other families and to offer my hands-on understanding of Autism. I also believe that the children have much to teach the adults and I want to promote this idea.
 
 
 
Clare Brimble
Experience and relevant qualifications:
I currently work with adults with learning difficulites within a residential setting.
City and Guilds NVQ Level 2&3 in Health and Social care.
Range of mandatory courses including Fire Warden training, First Aid,Makaton, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity etc.
Studing towards an open university course in understanding Asperger Syndrome and Autism.
Statement of intent:
I want to share and put into practice my ability to have an understanding of people with Asperger syndrome and Autism. I feel that being part of Young Voice gives the children an environment where they feel safe, understood and accepted for who they are and this therefore has a positive effect on their well being and confidence. I believe that having this regular support can have a knock on effect in all areas of not only the children's lives but for the parents too!
