The response since the conception of the Butterflies-Haven in September 2009 has indicated that this need exists in Keynsham, the surrounding Banes area as well as Bristol and South Glos.
The Butterflies Vision and Commitment
To create a central Haven where parents/carers can feel part of a supportive network that understands and to open up social opportunities where they feel at ease and free to relax.
To provide a Social and Play environment for the younger children who are on the Spectrum where they feel safely able to be themselves and never feel that they are being forced to be anything but 'themselves'.
To create a focused group for the older teens/young adults where they can share their feelings about their challenges.
To encourage decision-makers to work alongside 'real families' and find more supportive choices that ease their burden.
To raise awareness within communities both for existing families and those to come.
